Storm & Breeze

Carrie, Chris and I go back quite a long way. I have painted a number of works for them over the years and as you might tell from my portrait of Storm and Breeze, they are passionate about Border Collies. Their first commission, back in the early nineties, was of their then four dogs. The setting was an absolutely glorious spot by a lake in the hills above Llanbedr in North Wales. It was a perfect backdrop for the portrait - they are, after all, Welsh Border Collies. Furthermore, it was a location that we all knew and loved. The dogs, themselves, had been there for their holidays on a number of occasions, so it was most appropriate.

For this latest work of Storm and Breeze, Carrie had asked if the dogs could be posed in the Bluebell wood that backs onto their home. Breathtaking in its Springtime glory, the wood looks almost magical, infused with fresh, vivid green foliage and carpeted in sun-dappled shades of purple and blue.

I was rather pleased with the end result so decided to publish it as a limited edition print. To view, click on the link below.
